Nic Cage is a lot of things.
An actor. An over-actor. A Coppola. A one-handed Cammareri. A Ghost Rider. A National Treasure. And, in the 1983 film Valley Girl, he’s a dorky Hollywood punk who falls in love with a popular Valley girl.
The movie is a cute teen drama and a fun view into that era of LA culture, but the soundtrack is the real star.
My favorite track is “A Million Miles Away” by the Plimsouls. It captures teen angst and urgency with that ‘80s echo in a way that other songs try to but very few can accomplish.
If you’re not a Nic Cage fan, this movie might make you one. If not, at least it’ll make you a Plimsouls fan.
Thanks for listening,
