When I was in Detroit a few years ago we went and saw the Motown building and sort of stood there in awe. It’s hard to think that so much incredible music came from one address.

In my mind at least, Motown/Tamla is one of the most significant companies in American history. Like Ford or McDonalds. But instead of Mustangs or Big Macs, we got culture-defining music.

This song is so warm and the melody is perfect. And apparently Gladys Horton started the group when they were all in high school and she was fifteen-years-old.
