It’s Friday, so my friend James is here to share a track and some thoughts.
Enjoy:
6.
It’s the number of championships the Bulls have.
For some reason, it’s the devil’s number when there are three of them next to each other.
It’s the number of babies you need to have a sextuplet.
It’s also the number of times I’ve seen this band in concert.
That might not seem like enough to be a superfan. But it’s also every single show this band has played on the east coast of the U.S.. Plus, I saw them once in Japan. Because this band is from Japan.
Now, I could go on for thousands and thousands more words about how this is the only music artist I’ve chased around the country. And how I went to Tokyo and ran into them in an elevator. Or how they’re the only band that can craft a song that starts with three bars in 5/8 then transitions to one bar in 6/8 without you even noticing (see song A Desert of Human).
But from what I’ve gathered being a reader of this blog since post #1, this isn’t the place for that.
I just hope hearing this song makes you listen to more of them. If you’re a musician like me, I hope they challenge you a bit. If you’re not, I hope they sound like nothing you’ve ever heard before.
600.
That’s the number of times I would see this band live if I could.
Thanks for listening,
James
